Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan Join Pakistan Squad for New Zealand ODI Series

Napier, March 28: Pakistan’s One Day International (ODI) squad has assembled in Napier ahead of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which is set to begin on March 29.

Pakistan Squad Gathers for ODI Series

Key players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Imam-ul-Haq have joined the squad, along with eight players from Pakistan’s T20I team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video on social media capturing moments of the squad’s arrival and warm greetings among players and team management.

Squad Additions: Haris Rauf & Usman Khan

In a strategic move, PCB has included fast bowler Haris Rauf and wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan in the ODI squad.

  • Haris Rauf was one of Pakistan’s standout performers in the recently concluded T20I series, despite the team’s 4-1 defeat.

  • Usman Khan has been named as a reserve wicketkeeper, while Mohammad Rizwan remains the first-choice gloveman and will also lead the team as captain.

Departure of T20I Players

As the ODI squad arrives, several T20I players are set to leave New Zealand for Pakistan via Dubai. This group includes Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Umair Bin Yousuf, Hassan Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Abbas Afridi, Abdul Samad, and Jahandad Khan.
