Former cricketer Basit Ali has offered valuable technical advice to Pakistan’s star player, Babar Azam, and confidently predicted that Babar will emerge as the “best batter” in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL).
As Babar Azam aims to rediscover his form in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, Basit has provided some crucial technical tips. He advised Babar to focus on using his “bottom hand” and to open the face of his bat to enhance his batting technique.
On his YouTube channel, Basit stated, “Babar should lower his stance a bit and slightly open his bat. Currently, his bat is closed, and he should focus on using his bottom hand more during the powerplay. This adjustment will help him perform better. The pressure will now be on both Babar and Rizwan.”
In addition to Babar, Mohammad Rizwan was also dropped from the T20I squad for the series against New Zealand. The removal of these seasoned players has given the team a chance to introduce new talent and fresh faces.
Following a somewhat underwhelming performance in the recent Champions Trophy, Babar’s place in the team has been questioned, and he was dropped from Pakistan’s T20I squad for the New Zealand series. However, he was retained for the ODI phase, where he will look to regain his touch.
