“Mind Your Words”: Babar Azam’s Father Hits Back at Critics

Babar Azam’s father, Azam Siddique, has strongly defended his son following his exclusion from Pakistan’s T20I squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand. Expressing disappointment over the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision, Siddique reaffirmed his belief in Babar’s ability to make a strong comeback.

“A player who was named in the ICC T20 Team of the Year and even received an ICC cap is now dropped—no problem. He will prove himself in the National T20 and PSL,” he stated confidently.

A Message to Former Cricketers and Critics

Siddique didn’t hold back when addressing the criticism Babar has faced from former cricketers and analysts. He cautioned them against using harsh words, stating:

“Be mindful of your words. If Babar responds, you might not like it. You are the past, and you will not play again.”

Defending his son’s performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, he expressed frustration over the negative remarks from senior players and TV analysts.

A Father’s Role in Babar’s Journey

Responding to those who criticize him for speaking out, Siddique made it clear that he stands by his son:

“Some people object that his father speaks too much. But I am his first and last coach, mentor, spokesperson, and biggest well-wisher. That will never change.”

He also urged Babar’s fans to ignore misleading commentary on television and instead rely on official records from the PCB to assess his performances.

With the National T20 and PSL approaching, Babar Azam will have the perfect opportunity to silence his critics and prove why he remains one of Pakistan’s premier cricketers.
